Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of many Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear due to their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They increase the effectiveness of the item they're connected to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components within them by using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can take on. The absorption of damage by an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. But, it's important to note that this will also increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than it was before.
There are several different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each has a different effect. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item will receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as indicated in the table below.
Some upgrades are magic or a mix of technology and magic which is identified by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require charges to use, which is shown by a "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are continuously updated or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest option to improve your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more costly, but is readily available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.
The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it will also affect its agility and speed. sneak a peek at this site is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The defensive boost gained usually isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain weapons come with special upgrades to improve their inherent qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade for applying. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests, killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee that is based on a specific number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the more advanced the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until you reach a maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which upgrades would reset.
It's still possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear with low upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. These will be able to give you the best tier of benefits and blessings.
To level up faster, most players will prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition players, they should think about upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will make it more useful when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to increase a stat or provide secondary effects in armor and weapons. They can be made through an process known as jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gem and a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the quality of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler, with stages that range from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, gear and jewelry.
The Jeweler can craft the highest levels of gems apart from the rare and legendary ones, which you must be at a certain level to get. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels are able to be swapped by a different jewel of the same type without damaging the original one. However, you can only replace one jewel in a piece of equipment only once.
It is normal to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and make a surface harder than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be swapped, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also a scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be retrieved through an upgrade extractor or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to provide your hero with a variety of small, but beneficial advantages. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through completing road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives a small but useful bonus in speed of movement and evasion. The player can then collect rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be put into any type of equipment, however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows the hero to perform better when they are not active and may also help fill in the void of a solid team or any talent tree slots that would normally be filled with the hero's ideal statistics.
As a general rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace soon. Next, any items that have desirable statistics aren't as important as the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats you wish to upgrade, as it's often more beneficial to upgrade one crucial stat than two subpar ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players will discover other trinkets in form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
