Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment results in a linear increase in a given stat.
Players can recycle six items at one time to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the primary way to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.
There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any type of equipment and offer lower bonuses than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting material.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. If you do not have enough of either, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components required for a specific item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, but can be reduced by a variety of methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or rune. Many can be upgraded using an upgrade suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, making them even more effective at conveying a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.
Each glyph has a set of values it can improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph can increase a stat's value by but not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. you can try these out of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the product you are admiring.
Most upgrade components slotted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can take out the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered a loss.
When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also apply an inscription on your equipment to provide a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is beneficial for players who take a lot damage from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a brand new random affix, which is typically better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a great method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded to increase damage or perks.
Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of item upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined based on the item's rarity and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.
Rerolling is a great option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective for Diadems and rings that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it with money or food items that will allow them to make changes to their builds without spending too much time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. They are planning to add a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first method of leveling up an item upgrade is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second option is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for a stat. In addition you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. After this the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
When upgrading items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances when a greater or special roll can occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique item type, it has a chance of gaining a higher level.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive, particularly if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it has. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will reach the highest level on its upgrade track and gain an additional bonus effect. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The iLevel also changes in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance an item that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to a rare or exceptional item will be able to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
