Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to give a bonus or extra effect when the equipment is utilized. They can be bought from vendors or players looted, or gotten as rewards, or created by crafting materials. Upgrades can have cosmetic effects, in addition to providing attribute bonuses.

Infusions, inscriptions and enhancements are all types of upgrade components. They are not generally available for general use and can only be used on equipment that has been elevated, or certain non-ascended weaponry from the Factions Campaign. You can retrieve infusions and inscriptions from your equipment using an Extractor Device, or by salvaging with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool.

Phoenix Boxes unlike other upgrade products are able to be traded and re-used when still attached to an item that is being upgraded. These upgrades are the most effective option to boost weapon and armor quality without spending Dilithium, as they can increase the likelihood of receiving an upgrade by two times.

An upgrade component placed within an item can be replaced with another but it is not able to replace the previous one (except for upgrades of legendaries and equipment with ascended levels). Upgrade components can only be added to upgraded items with an identification level of zero or greater. Adding an upgrade to an item that is already equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade will display the name of the resulting item as it would appear in game (for example adding the Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be referred to as Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player is limited to up to three  upgrade item s at once.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a great addition to any item. They provide unique advantages and boosts. Some Glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, increasing the power of the item. These glyphs are available through dungeons, and some even drop in certain World Tier 3 areas. It is important to note that glyphs can't be used on a character who hasn't created a root dungeon with the same depth.

To make use of a Glyph you first have to create it using components, and then connect them using anchors. Then the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths in the same layer. If you don't want to create the glyph using components, you can build it by using a combination of paths and anchors. Drag an element close to the component that is highlighted to hold it into place.

Certain glyphs require specific conditions to be fulfilled, such as 25 Dexterity in a specific area on the Paragon Board. Some require a specific number of Primary Stat nodes to be activated and can be a challenge to achieve. Certain glyphs also have a radius that increases as you level it up.

Glyphs are able to be applied to many different weapons and items, with the exception for those of a specific class. Some of these glyphs also have conditions, such as having a certain amount of dexterity or attack damage in a specific area on the Paragon board.

The Defend Glyph increases the probability of preventing enemy attacks by five percent. It also has a 15% chance to render the Hero vulnerable for 2 turns.

Some glyphs can also be used on limited use tools, like the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. These glyphs are counted towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.

The most common glyphs are the attack glyphs, which increase the ATK substats of Artifacts with a flat value. These glyphs are especially beneficial for classes that rely on weapons that are ranged, like Warriors or Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph, which makes enemies that hit the Hero susceptible to damage.

Reroll tokens can be used for rerolling results that are rolled during an Action. They are destroyed when the reroll happens. Reroll tokens are obtained in several ways, including through the dungeons, raids, and skirmishes. They can also be bought in the store or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons or trials since they allow players to reroll the rewards from the end chest.

Recycle points are available for items at level 1. The upgrade gauge will grow by a specific amount of points each time you recycle an item. This value is based on the rarity of the item and its level. In addition the upgraded item will not retain its level when rerolled and the cost for recycling an upgraded item rises depending on its level.

The player can also make use of reroll tokens to reroll an item. However, this will not bring back the item's original stats or level. This is useful for players who want to reroll an item that they don't love, but want to keep it in their collection.

There are three different types of upgrade tokens in the game: reroll, random, and upgrade. Each type comes with a variety of subtypes. For example, reroll tokens come in three different levels: enhanced, rare and legendary. Each requires a product of the appropriate level to create the new item with the same quality.

To make use of rerolling tokens choose "Reroll Token" by right-clicking the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Select the type of token. The available tokens are Item Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns and Focus. The Item token can be used to create a brand new Item in any quality. A Weapon or Misc token can create a new weapon from the same faction.

The item can be upgraded to a new item that has the same stats but a higher level. This will occur if the item is in the Pool that cannot be dropped or was transferred to it as part of a Franchise Card.
